The start of the harbor town gate

Sometimes somethings just are ment to happen. I really think that this Town gate is one of those things although it hampers the procress of the hexes. There have been so many little things that have just been waiting to be part of this kind of project but I haven´t seen that before now. Also the level of enthusiasm which burns inside me at the moment is HUGE! I remeber that I had the same feeling when I got the idea for the harbor houses. Well, on with the show!

Here are my quick thoughs and initial plans about the construction of the gate and the wall.

I will base the gate with 3mm mdf because the styrene is quite fragile. I will leave some space around the wall that I can add some details here and there. At the main gate there will be two big statues and maybe a drawbridge of somekind. At the smaller door there will be some big torches and two big flags on the wall. I drew circles where there will be decks for big cannons! Heavy defence for the city:

On the back side there will be big pilars on both sides of the main way. I also drew some walking planes and stairways:

First task was to cut the styrene to three pieces. This will help the working stages later on but also this enables me to shorten the entire piece to fit on 5 hexes (112cm):

Here are some planning doodles:

At this point, in other words before the mdf-base phase, I could start with the main gate. I used knife to cut the desired shape and behold, our good friend and overseer of all my terrain projects, Dr. Arcadius, showed up to show the true scale:

I have had that Lego gate for ages in my bitzbox and now it found it´s meaning of life:

Building terrain is so FUN!!!!!!

Unexpected inspiration for the harbour gamingtable..

Because I don´t have much time at the moment to build my harbor board I have planned and drew quite alot of sketches about possible future projects and one has been a gate to the city. Here is the idea..

Now for christmas present for myself I bought a new TV (the olympics are coming!) and when I unpacked it the TV itself didn´t suprise me but the patting of the box did. Here is one of the styrene pieces on my table.

Can you see what I saw? It´s a frigging towngate!!! Here is some thoughs about it.

The red lines are where I´m going to cut the styrene for three pieces (easier to storage). The green resembles the gates so one big main gate and on smaller door. Orange things are statues of some sort. Then there is going to be flags, stairs and stuff as I planned in the original skecth.

The styrene makes a great base for the gate but I have to reinforce it with MDF and foamboard because it ´s quite fragile. However it saves a ton of time and gives a great opportunity and inspiration to build a MASSIVE town gate!!! Have...to...find...some..hobby...time.......

Zombicide Survivors, now in Colors!!

Last one painted was Amy and I have to say that this dind´t go too well. I don´t want to spend any more time with these minis so I just have to suck it up and continue my journey..

Here are all the survivors ready for some mayhem!!

Unfortunately I didn´t take any pics from our christmas holiday special Zombieslaughter games because it looked quite sweet with the painted minis. When I finish the last 20  zombies and get through all the Season 1 scenarious (Im currently on the eight scenario which has been quite cruel to me) it´s time to order the prison outbreak OR the toxic city mall OR both!!
